Beth Frey is a distinguished trial attorney and registered nurse with decades of experience in litigating cases, primarily in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, wrongful death, and sexual assault. Her combined background in law and nursing uniquely enables her to effectively advocate for individuals affected by medical errors and negligence.
Ms. Frey graduated with honors from York Hospital School of Nursing in Pennsylvania, where she earned her nursing diploma. She went on to earn an honors undergraduate degree in nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Prior to pursuing her legal career, she practiced nursing at four East Coast hospitals. As a nurse, primarily in adult intensive care units, she saw firsthand the devastating effects of preventable medical errors. This experience motivated her to pursue a career in law in order to more effectively advocate for patients and enhance the quality of care. She earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore School of Law.
Ms. Frey has worked for several distinguished and well-respected law firms in Maryland and the District of Columbia, and served as a Hearing Officer with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). She is admitted to practice before the Bars of the District of Columbia and Maryland.
Throughout her legal career, Ms. Frey has demonstrated leadership and service, including serving as President of the Maryland Trial Lawyers Association (now the Maryland Association of Justice). She is the first nurse attorney and the third woman to preside over this statewide organization. Her longstanding service to the organization includes roles on its Executive, Budget, Legislative, and Technology Committees, and she has chaired its New Lawyers, Membership Services, and Education and Program Committees.
In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Frey is deeply committed to community service. She has volunteered in special education law, re-entry mediation services within Maryland’s correctional facilities, and helped seniors with accessing programs and services.
Outside of work, Ms. Frey enjoys spending time with her husband, supporting her children’s interests, and engaging in activities such as biking, hiking, traveling, photography, and following current events.
